Hamakom

Hamakom (The Place) is a series in progress. The works presented here represent an ongoing exploration of landscape, belonging, and spiritual searching, with new paintings added as the project develops.

Rooted in personal experience, these paintings reflect an ongoing search for home—not only as a physical location, but as an emotional and sacred space. The landscape becomes a place of encounter, carrying traces of history, identity, and longing.

Figures often appear within expansive natural settings, sometimes emerging from the land itself, sometimes moving through it in quiet contemplation. Their presence suggests a dialogue between the inner and outer worlds, where questions of belonging, displacement, and connection unfold through the experience of place. The boundaries between figure and environment soften, emphasizing a sense of interconnectedness between the human spirit and the natural world.

Light serves as both a visual and symbolic element throughout the series. It illuminates moments of stillness, transformation, and reflection, hinting at dimensions beyond the visible. Through expressive brushwork and layered color, the paintings seek to evoke an atmosphere of contemplation and wonder.

Rather than defining a single place, Hamakom points toward the universal human search for meaning, rootedness, and presence. These works invite viewers into a space where the physical landscape becomes a reflection of an inward journey, and where the ordinary world opens onto something transcendent.
